Peter Pan collar shirt - details

This morning while I was driving home from early market'ing, I let my heart rules. It drove me to visit to one of my friends whom I missed her dearly lately. When I saw her during my last visit to her a few weeks ago, she looked more thin and frail than before. As usual, I didn't spend a long time at her place, I bought some fresh sea fishes and share a recipe to cook with her favourite vermicelli noodles. I know she likes vermicelli noodles. She says I'm concerned of her as much of a daughter. After the visit, my feel much relieved and my heart lighten up a little and I'm more pleased now.

Besides, the Peter Pan collar shirt is fully done now - with additional button and fine edging details, and it has to be in blue to match with this jeans miniskirt. I like this final result. Hope you could get some inspiration for your sewing and things you're making.

And if you're thinking of someone, go and visit them (for me - it's now, without much delay). That's the best way (through action) to show you care.

I need to leave for preparing dinner. Have a great day, friends!

Randomness

We visited our reservoir recently at Air Itam. I have a fond memory of this place, maybe because this is the very first picnic site my family had introduced to me since I was two or three years old. And now, occasionally I bring my children and hubby to this lovely place, bringing along some snacks and drinks to spend the whole morning here listening to the sound of nature, breathing the fresh air. Some otters could be spotted in the middle of the dam if you're lucky!

Oh yes, the Peter Pan collar shirt is still in the process of jazzing up. I need to pick up the concentration to complete a w.i.p. custom made baju kurung that has seen no progress for the past three days. gosh. I'm in weekend mode, rest is much needed for now. Happy weekending... : )

Peter Pan collar shirt

Over the past few days, I tried out Peter Pan collar with suitable piece of dress. I made this plain white Peter Pan collar and fixed it on my favourite piece of floral print cotton fabric left from this top. The result turned out well. I love it.
I will jazzed it up a little more, come back here tomorrow and I'll show you which bottom that I have in mind to match the pair to become a complete one...

Custom made Baju Kurung

Over the weekend, I managed to make this - a newly completed baju kurung which I custom made for a client. huh... it was a big task though for this sewer-in-me. Now, what I hope is the dress would fit the wearer well... praying hard for that...

In another note, my son told me that one of his teacher is retiring soon and he hoped to give something as souvenir, right after school on the day that teacher is leaving. So, as it was a last minute notice for me, we just got this handy to be given away. I hope the teacher would appreciate hand-made as much as we do.

A zipper pouch and books

I made this 8" x 5" flat bottom zippered pouch this morning. The fabric cut out supposed meant for an extra-large pencil case, that's why it has got two-pencil print. Somehow, I think we (me & my kids) needed a craft pouch more than a pencil case, so that we can keep our increasing craft utensils in it. My sewing notions captured in the picture are for illustration only, all will be taken out and hand over to my crafty baby. Maybe I shall make a few more, I probably would need one as my cosmetics pouch, another as my toiletries pouch, and another as sewing its and bits pouch... just to name a few and definitely it would help me to get organized... : P

In another note, our books have arrived after much waiting. Kids can't wait any longer to get the parcel open and read the books first-hand. The mummy was as excited as the children to take the first peek at all those books. oh,... I love books!

These are some of our collections of books.

Casual wear shirt

(Photos courtesy by hubby)

Today I'm in this attire; a new casual wear shirt with a pair of knee length jeans. Pattern design and sewing all done by myself over the weekend. It's made of Japanese cotton fabric with matching bias tape. With the shirt, it will accompany me to run my routine duties of go to school, market'ing, breakfast with hubby, cook in the kitchen, teaching kids and etc...Despite of all these mundane chores, I do not want the 'attire' on me to be that mundane and boring, my closet is badly needed some update. When we look good we'll feel good - that's what I believe ^_^
